Amazing Stories of Celebrities, Gambling, and Online Casinos

As you’ve probably noticed, online casinos are now popping up all over the internet. There’s big money to be made in the online gambling world, which is why there are currently more online casinos appearing online than ever before. When it comes to gambling however, as great as online casinos and gambling can be, you really can’t beat the glitz, glamour, and excitement of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas is the gambling capital of the world, and conveniently for keen A-list celebrities, it isn’t located all that far away from the bright lights of Hollywood. In just one hour, a celebrity looking to win big in Vegas could hop on their private jet and be in the desert, ready to scoop the jackpot and take the house for everything that it has. Vegas is not only great for gambling, it’s also great for celebrity spotting. Many celebs love to gamble, which is why we’re looking at a few amazing gambling stories involving casinos, online casinos, and your favourite Hollywood A-listers.

Ben Affleck

That’s right, Batman himself is a very keen gambler, and not too long ago, he could often be found in Vegas. Contrary to popular belief, counting cards is not illegal. If you can learn to do it, you could win big, although you will likely be asked to leave by the casino. Ben Affleck reportedly learned how to count cards, and after one particularly great streak in Hard Rock Casino, Vegas, he was very politely asked to leave by casino security. On one night, Affleck scooped a whopping $145,000. What did he do with his winnings? He shared it equally with employees at the casino. What a guy.

Charlie Sheen

Charlie Sheen has enjoyed a very turbulent life. He’s had his ups, and he’s had his downs. Like his former on-screen character ‘Charlie Harper’, Charlie Sheen was reportedly big into his gambling, and for many of the wrong reasons. Shortly after he split from his then-wife Denise Richards, Sheen would reportedly gamble away around $200,000 each week. He was so into betting in fact, that he called his sports bookmaker whilst en-route to the hospital for the birth of his child, asking him to place a substantial bet for him on a big sporting event.

Drew Carey and Sam Simon

In the UK, Drew Carey isn’t as well-known as he is in the States. The story goes that the TV star was with his buddy, the late Sam Simon – Co-creator of The Simpsons, in Las Vegas. They were reportedly hungry and decided to order a couple of burgers. As they waited for their food to be prepared, the two decided to play some Blackjack. They reportedly gambled $1000 per hand. During that one afternoon, they allegedly burnt their way through a combined $200,000. We guess the old adage of ‘there’s only one winner in gambling’ really is true.
