Best GAA Betting Sites in Ireland

BoyleSports GAA Betting

Pros:

  • Well organised GAA page
  • Lots of GAA markets

Cons:

  • No GAA specific promos

BoylseSports are a top name when it comes to betting, but if you’re looking for GAA markets, what will you find here?

You can find all their GAA markets arranged on one page, and it’s clear that there’s lots of markets. You should be able to find just the right bets here when you’re ready to place it. It’s always good to have a lot of choice on your chosen betting site.

You’ll also see that the site is well designed, with markets arranged by popular, handicap, next off, total points, and more. You can also go check out the live match centre to find all the in play bets that are available. It won’t take long to find the bet you want, and make it.

The one thing we’d like to see is some GAA specific promos, as there aren’t any available right now. However, you will see that there’s lots of other deals for you.

With so many markets and a well designed site, you’re going to get just what you’re looking for here as a member of BoyleSports. They’re an excellent place for GAA bets.

NoviBet GAA Betting

Pros:

  • Excellent welcome offer to use on all bets
  • In play GAA betting available

Cons:

  • Not as many GAA markets as we’d like

NoviBet has been around since 2006 and has a large following for sports betting. What can you expect from them when it comes to GAA?

When you take a look at the site, you will find they have a dedicated GAA section. Compared to other sites, they don’t have quite as many markets, so you’re not getting as much choice. Still though, you’ll find all major games covered.

That’s especially true when it comes to in play games, as that’s where the real GAA action is here. While they can’t offer live streaming, they can show you just what’s happening thanks to the match tracker.

If you join up now you can claim a matched deposit offer of up to 250 EUR, which can be used on any bets including GAA bets. That’s a great welcome for you, and gives you more for your money when you bet.

While they haven’t got the largest selection of GAA markets, NoviBet has a great in play section for the sports here. If that’s what you’re looking for, you need to make sure you check this site out.

Ladbrokes GAA Betting

Pros:

  • Easy to navigate site
  • Great odds on GAA games

Cons:

  • Not many markets on offer

Ladbrokes are one of the biggest names in betting right now, so you’ll be expecting great things from them when it comes to GAA betting. What can they offer you?

You will be surprised to see that they can’t offer as many markets in these sports as other sites can. While that is disappointing, there are a lot of other features that you’ll get a lot out of here.

For example, the site has been really well designed, so it’s super easy to find the markets that you want. In the GAA section, you can search games by upcoming, in play, outrights, and more. That does make it easy to find the bets that you want to make.

You’ll also find that they have really great odds on GAA bets as well. That makes them a go to site for betting, as you can be sure that you’ll get the best price on any bet that you make.

As such, while Ladbrokes don’t have the most GAA markets, they’re still an excellent option if you’re looking to make bets here. Get signed up now and try them out.

William Hill GAA Betting

Pros:

  • Lots of markets in GAA sports
  • Claim free bets through loyalty scheme

Cons:

  • No in play GAA betting

William Hill is a name every punter knows, and they’re always a good site for betting on many sports. When it comes to GAA sports though, do they have what you’re looking for?

When you head to the site, you’ll see they have both GAA football and hurling covered. There’s a large amount of markets in each, so you can make just the right bet that you’re looking for. While there are a lot of markets, the one thing we couldn’t find was in play markets. If that’s what you want, then this won’t be the site for you.

However, you can find just the right bet in a matter of moments, thanks to bets being organised  by category. That includes outrights, match betting, to reach the final, and more.

As a member, you’ll also be able to claim extra free bets to use on GAA sports through their loyalty scheme. That’s a great bonus that gives you more, the more you bet.

William Hill do have a lot to offer GAA punters, so if you haven’t already tried them out now is the time to do so.

What is the GAA?

The GAA promotes games such as Football, Hurling, Handball, and rounders, to name a few. As well as this, the GAA also integrate Irish song and dance into its objectives. One of the main aspects separating GAA from other athletic associations is the true amateur aspect. All players, regardless of whether or not they are professional, do not receive a paycheque. The game is centred around volunteers and supported by masses of Irish crowds.

What sports can be bet on within GAA?

Sports such as Hurling and football can be bet on year-round, with betting sites providing markets for the Irish Senior Football team, Camogie Championships, and the Hurling. It is safe to say there are plenty of sports to get your teeth stuck into.

Can you watch GAA action live?

Yes, GAA action can be watched live. BBC Northern Ireland, Sky Sports, and RTE all display coverage and highlights of the Senior Football Champions and Hurling. Other games (including these) can be watched live on the GAAGO website, providing live coverage of all events.

When are the GAA competitions on?

The Irish Senior Football Championships and Inter-Country Hurling run from May to September. The Hurling Championship finishes in Mid-August with the Irish Senior football Championship being held two weeks later. Also, Irish Club Championships are played from the beginning of June to March, beginning with the County Championships. This then advances onto the Provincial Championships,  finishing with the Hurling and Football finals hosted on St Patrick’s Day.

What is Gaelic football?

Gaelic football is a sport played by two teams consisting of fifteen players per side. Players score points by kicking or punching the ball into the other team’s net. Scoring a goal via punching or kicking the ball is worth three points, whereas landing the ball between two posts or above the goal awards a single point to the scoring team. Games usually last 70 minutes with draws being decided via replays or extra time. What is Hurling? In Hurling, all players have a wooden stick known as a ā€˜hurley.’ This is used to hit a sliotar (small ball) into the opposition’s net. Scoring In the oppositions net awards the scoring team with three points or hitting the sliotar over the bar scores a single bet. Just like football, these games contain 15 players per side, with the game totalling 70 minutes. Draws are also settled via extra time or replays.

Where can you find GAA betting odds?

With GAA betting so popular across Ireland and across the media, it is no revelation that favourite bookmakers are offering a variety of different markets for these Irish sports. Due to Gaelic football being such a high scoring game, handicap betting with GAA football is very popular. As well as this Individual bets are popular, these include outright wins, handicaps and even predicting the man of the match. With the GAA expanding every year, and the summer Championship clashes getting bigger, we can expect many more betting sites to offer GAA betting odds.

Can you bet on Live GAA games?

The GAA and bookmakers allow for in-play betting markets for both the Hurling and the football. Although fewer player markets are available in-play betting, there are still plenty of betting markets open to get your hands on. In the past GAA, Hurling has seen some incredible comebacks. Punters have previously bet on the losing team at half-time and brought in some serious cash. It is not uncommon within Hurling or Gaelic football for that matter to see high-scoring, action full games regardless of which team is winning at half-time. This, therefore, makes for a perfect opportunity for punters looking to make some serious cash. When developing a GAA betting strategy, it is vital to consider the weather conditions. This is often an underlooked concept of both Gaelic Hurling and Football. For example, a strong-wind may help a particular team up until half-time, and then help the other during the final half. This is something to be wary of, especially since the game can switch at any minute.

GAA betting markets

With GAA being so popular, we thought we’d provide you with some of the more popular GAA betting markets.

To win

One of the simple kind of bets, match-winning bets are for those interested in predicting the winner of the entire game – similar to that of traditional football. It is worth noting that these bets can be combined with accumulator bets – allowing multiple bets to be placed on different teams to win. For an accumulator bet to be successful, all chosen teams must win.

Winning margin

Especially popular in GAA games, a winning margin bet is centred around choosing a team which can win by a certain margin. For example, a team winning within a two-point range. We recommend combining a winning margin bet with a handicap bet.

First goalscorer

Much like in traditional football, first goalscorer markets are a tempting one for all punters. These are available for Gaelic football and Hurling. There’s nothing quite like placing your cash on the first goal, keeping you glued to the game until it occurs.

Handicap bets

Handicap markets are top-rated among punters. A handicap bet consists of a team covering their handicap and winning by more than the predicted margin. Although this is not uncommon, it is worth doing research on your chosen side to see if they have any history of comebacks, or winning handicaps in the past.

To summarise

To conclude, we recommend looking at GAA sports and betting markets available via popular bookmakers. When developing a better strategy, ensure to consider the weather and more importantly make use of the different betting markets open. For example, we suggest placing a variety of different bets, combining handicap bets with winning margin bets and first goalscorer bets with to win bets.
