As well as the brilliant calculator, our fantastic resources can help with the following;
Converting Fractions to Decimals
To get to decimal odds from fraction odds using our converter, take the numerator (the first number) and divide by the denominator (the second number). From here, just add one.
(Numerator/Denominator) +1 = Decimal Odds
Example: 8/5 = 1.6 + 1 = 2.6.
Converting Decimals to Fractions
To go in the opposite direction, reverse the process. Start by subtracting one, and then use a one as the denominator.
Example: 2.40 – 1 = 1.40 (1.4/1)
Of course, 1.4/1 isn’t something you would see with a bookmaker because they use fractions with whole numbers only. If we put this fraction in its simplest form, we get 7/5. Seven is the first whole number in the 1.4 times table, and it’s the fifth in the sequence. Therefore, we get fractional odds of 7/5.
Converting Fractions to Implied Probability
Next up, we get implied probability by dividing the denominator by the total of the denominator AND the numerator. Once you have this, times by 100.
Denominator/ (Denominator + Numerator) * 100 = Implied Probability
Example: 3/1 would be 1/ (1+3) * 100 = 25%
Converting Decimal Odds to Implied Probability
What if you’re starting with decimal odds? Well, just multiply by 100 after dividing one by the decimal as seen using our converter.
(1/Decimal) * 100 = Implied Probability
Example: 1/3.00 * 100 = 33.33%
