William Hill Becomes Official Betting Partner of Randox Grand National Festival

It has just been announced that William Hill, one of the best-known betting sites in Ireland, will be the new official betting partner of one of the most popular events in horse racing around the world, the Randox Grand National Festival. Held at Aintree Racecourse, Liverpool, this year’s Grand National will take place between 13th and 15th April 2023. The new deal will make William Hill the sponsor of the event for the next three years.

William Hill is one of the most popular horse betting sites in Ireland and the UK. The bookmaker takes pride in its long history of supporting, and investing in, horse racing. Bettors often favour William Hill because of its wider variety of horse racing markets available across its betting sites and retail locations. These markets featuring a large selection of events across different countries. It is likely that the new sponsorship deal will mean that customers may find exclusive odds and promotions across William Hill’s betting site and retail betting locations.

Speaking about the new deal with William Hill, The Jockey Club’s Aintree & North West Regional Director Dickon White said:

“William Hill is synonymous with horseracing in this country so we are thrilled they are going to be involved with our flagship meeting at Aintree for the next three years.”

A further example of William Hill’s commitment to the horse racing industry is its last brand ambassador – the bookmaker has just announced that it has signed retired Irish jump jockey and 2003 National Winner Barry Geraghty. With 1920 wins across his career, Geraghty is a well-known name in horse racing and is the second most successful jockey of all time at the Cheltenham Festival, and, overall, the fourth most successful Irish and British jump jockey of all time. Some of Geraghty’s most famous horses included Moscow Flyer, Kicking King, Bobs Worth, and Sprinter Sacre. Geraghty joins William Hill brand ambassadors Sir AP McCoy, Nick Luck, and Leonna Mayor – all popular names across the horse racing world.

In addition to overall official betting partner of the Randox Grand National, William Hill will also sponsor three of the races during the 2023 event. These are the Grade 1 William Hill Aintree Hurdle, the William Hill Handicap Hurdle, and the Grade 3 William Hill Handicap Chase, which will take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively. All three races will be broadcast on ITV, and the Handicap Chase will be immediately followed by the Randox Grand National. Those interested in using a betting site to bet on any of these events are currently in luck, as William Hill is currently running an excellent “Get €40 Free Bet” introductory offer for new customers.

Speaking about the new deal with Randox Grand National Festival, William Hill’s Head of Sponsorship, Social & PR Daryl West said:

“The Grand National Festival at Aintree is one of the pinnacles of the National Hunt calendar and we are delighted to be involved as the Official Betting Partner for the next three years. Horseracing is a vital part of our heritage, and it was an easy decision for us to support not just the biggest race in the sport but a huge event in the annual sporting calendar.”

The Randox Grand National Festival has been held since 1839. It is a handicap steeplechase with a distance of about 4 miles and 2 ½ furlongs. The Grand National is one of the most important and anticipated races across the world, and features a prize fund of £1m. The nature of this event is such that even those who are not normally interested in horse racing or betting will consider finding good betting sites and trying their luck. This year, the favourite for the Grand National is 2022 winner Noble Yeats with odds of 10/1, followed by 14/1 for last year’s second finish – Any Second Now.

In terms of being at the event in person, there are many exciting options. The Friday is the Opening Day, followed by a Ladies Day on Saturday and a Grand National Day on Sunday. The event is organised and ran by The Jockey Club, the largest commercial horse racing organisation in the UK. This means that customers can take advantage of all the usual outstanding booking options such as group bookings, restaurant packages, private boxes etc. The Ladies Days also features The Style Awards, which celebrate the best in racing, style, and fashion, with QUIZ being the event’s Official Style Partner in 2023.

The new deal between the Grand National and William Hill will certainly be beneficial for both parties. It is certain that William Hill will have a strong presence at the race course on the day, however for those who prefer to do their betting online, don’t forget to take advantage of the bookmaker’s outstanding introductory deal as above. As usual, we will follow the Grand National with interest and will report any relevant news here.
